Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Downtown Manteo

Probably the highlight of any Outer Banks New Year’s, this fun, family-friendly event starts off the night right at the Manteo Waterfront, with sounds by DJ Anthony from 6 pm to 8 pm. Later, the same stage will see a performance by the 10-piece Better by Tuesday from 9 pm to Midnight. Kids will also have the chance to enjoy games like glow-in-the-dark mini golf before a fireworks show over the river.
Food trucks and vendors will be selling food and drinks to enjoy throughout the event, so head down to the Waterfront and join in on the local tradition with Manteo’s community during your New Year’s Eve trip!
Keep Up the Celebration with 12 Bars of Christmas
Continue the celebration with this fun seasonal event that older visitors are sure to enjoy! 12 Bars of Christmas starts this year on November 27th, inviting 12 local bars to host special events and celebrations that run until the beginning of the new year. Full details for the event are yet to be confirmed, so check back as the date approaches to find out more.
Start the New Year on the Beach

While it may be too cold to swim, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the beach during your New Year’s vacation. Explore Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and more. Enjoy the crisp morning weather with walks on the beach, or spend afternoons flying kites and building sand castles. It’s also a great time to hunt for shells with a smaller crowd than peak season.
